Disney World!

We just got back from three days in Disney world. It was fun but very tiring.

My oldest son (4) loved the Indiana Jones stunt show, and Star Wars ride, and the teacup ride. We got him a fedora and plastic pistol, and he acted as Indiana Jones for two days straight.

My youngest son (2) loved the characters, especially Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. He also like the teacup ride and the Finding Nemo ride. Talking with an animated Crush the Turtle was pretty cool too.

Overall the weather was great, and the kids had a ball. I'm sure we'll plan another trip in a couple of years.

Disney-bound

The family is heading out for Disney today. The 8 hour drive is not something I am looking forward to, but I hope the kids can stay excited and make it go well.

Halloween Party

We went to your first Halloween party of the season last week (two more to go). The kids had a great time, but Erik really didn't like dunking his face in the water while bobbing for apples. They loved their costumes, and they ate way too much candy (big surprise).

I got the boat out for a quick sail last weekend. The weather was nice and cool, but the wind was a little weak. We should have a couple more weekends of good sailing, then it gets too cold for my wife.

Rewarding Work!

I completed my first truly rewarding work this year. A small group of men from church got together to clear a shut-in woman's backyard. Her yard looked more like a jungle than a person's house. It was three hours of back-breaking yard work, but it was worth it. We have more projects planned, so this promises to be a very rewarding (and tiring) holiday season.

My family is preparing for our youngest son's birthday as well as a trip to Disney. He gets a special birthday party with Winnie the Pooh, and he is very excited. More to come in two weeks.

Is Fall finally here?

The weather has gotten agreeably cool lately. I especially enjoy the crisp mornings. Fall is in the air. This is the only time of year I really miss living up North.

My oldest son just celebrated his 4th birthday. We had a big party at the Children's Museum downtown. The best part was all the cool Spiderman toys he got!

First Day of Soccer

Last weekend was my oldest son's first soccer practice. He was great! We've been practicing in the backyard, and it certainly showed. The whole team listened to their coach and were well behaved. It was an amazing site to watch a bunch of three year olds actually learning to play soccer instead of running around like wild animals.

The Steelers lost an ugly game to the Eagles last week. It ruined my entire weekend.

Opening Day

NFL football is finally back! I know my wife is as thrilled as I am that the NFL season opened last weekend. My team, the mighty Pittsburgh Steelers, started the season with a win. This is a great start to the Fall.

My sailboat survived our brush with Tropical Storm Hanna. Thankfully the storm turned out to be something of a non-event. It even got me out of work early on Friday!
